This glazed ceramic tile depicts an organic cluster of chanterelle mushrooms, their fluid forms etched through the sgraffito technique—a method in which the artist carves through a surface layer of slip to reveal contrasting clay beneath. The result is a tactile, layered design where each incision highlights the mushrooms’ natural ridges and folds. The warm terracotta glaze accentuates the rhythmic lines and gives the tile a subtle sheen, evoking the damp shimmer of a forest floor after rain. A small snail tucked into the composition adds a touch of quiet life and curiosity.

Throughout her travels, she’s inspired by nature’s incredible artistry—the structure and detail within apparent chaos, and the magical beauty present in everything from grand landscapes to the intricacy of a single blade of grass.

Organic shapes, textures, and the people she has encountered from diverse cultures and backgrounds continue to inspire her work. Her creations reflect a deep connection to her surroundings, her community, and her own heart. At the core of each of her works lies a sense of whimsy and vulnerability.
