This glazed ceramic tile captures a family of inky cap mushrooms, rendered through the sgraffito technique—where the artist scratches away the surface slip to reveal the lighter clay beneath. The bold contrast of black glaze against the natural ceramic base evokes the mysterious beauty of the forest floor at dusk. Each cap is delicately etched to reveal fine gill lines, and a small snail nestled beside the stems adds a touch of quiet humor and life. The glossy surface finish enhances the dark, moody palette while preserving the hand-carved texture that defines this earthy, one-of-a-kind work.

Organic shapes, textures, and the people she has encountered from diverse cultures and backgrounds continue to inspire her work. Her creations reflect a deep connection to her surroundings, her community, and her own heart. At the core of each of her works lies a sense of whimsy and vulnerability.
