Courtney Armistead

Founder and owner of La Luna Collective, Courtney has a beautiful family history of artists and artisans. For four generations, the women in Courtney's family have created and curated exquisite visual art including paintings, drawings, collages, mosaics, and sculptures.

Mentored by the women in her family and inspired by a life spent exploring museums, galleries, and private collections around the world, Courtney Armistead is inspired by and creates art that invites wonder, questions, and storytelling. Her work is bold and unconventional—pieces that compel viewers to pause, reflect, and imagine the narrative behind the brushstrokes.

Grounded in gratitude and observation, Courtney’s process is rooted in the rhythms of everyday life: weaving morning glory vines, greeting hummingbirds, and reveling in the simple joy of being alive. These moments feed her creative spirit and fuel her passion to make art more, and to make it matter.

Currently based in Wartrace, Tennessee, Courtney works primarily in collage, acrylic, and oil, often incorporating found materials and personal ephemera into her pieces. She is influenced by the big, the weird, and the meaningful—art that challenges perception and evokes emotion.
